My name is Réka Morvay. I am a psychologist, doula, childbirth educator and lactation consultant.

I'm a 37-year-old mom to two beautiful girls. In my private practice, I run a community center for women in Budapest, and provide counseling and birth services through it, mainly to expat English-speaking families in Budapest.

Counseling

I have a BA in Psychology from UC Berkeley and a Masters in Psychology from Cornell University. I originally trained as a research scientist. My area of specialization is the biological psychology of sexual and reproductive behavior. After returning to Hungary, I retrained as a therapist. I attended Semmelweis University and VIKOTE’s joint program in cognitive and behavior therapy. I have been providing counseling services since 2007. In my private practice, I offer short-term, goal-oriented therapy addressing specific issues and problems my clients bring. I work with individuals and couples of all cultural backgrounds and sexual orientations.

Pregnancy and childbirth

I am certified as a doula through the Hungarian Doula Association. I am a DONA-trained birth and postpartum doula, though I am not certified through them. I attend home and hospital births.

I am certified as a childbirth educator through Childbirth International.

I am an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant).

I offer Skype consultations for birth related questions, psychological counseling for postpartum depression or other mental health concerns, and answer breastfeeding questions online (though some breastfeeding concerns will necessitate a real life visit with a lactation consultant in your area).
